Dataset

Usage-based billing information is one of the richest and most reliable datasource for business intelligence since it ties revenue to customers, products, and time. We consolidate this information into a clean and analytics-ready dataset. The dataset can be used to gain insights, build custom dashboards, integrate billing data with other business applications, or automate complex reporting tasks. For concrete use cases, please refer to the Examples section.

The dataset is available as a separate offer for all CloudBilling customers. In addition to the billing data, a lot of additional information is available on purchases, products, and customers. There is event-based data synchronisation between CloudBilling and the dataset. This means that whenever there are any changes in CloudBilling, the changes are updated in the dataset warehouse as well.

Insights and Customer Portals

Insights are standardised Power BI reports on public cloud usage, offered together with the dataset. Insights can be useful for many of your BI needs and can improve your invoice validation, revenue forecasting, and cost management. Once the dataset is enabled on the environment, our team sets up insights as an extra page accessible via CloudBilling menu.

Customer Portals is an additional service that you can offer to your customers. It contains the Insights only for that specific customer, so that they can see the standardised reports on their own usage. ___

This Documentation provides a comprehensive explanation of the data available in the data warehouse and how to access them. The chapter Accessing & Connecting to Dataset provides detailed descriptions of access methods. The dataset is structured in database tables, and the chapter Dataset Tables explains the available tables, including field definitions and important considerations. Finally, there are some examples of how the dataset can be used for informed decision-making. We encourage you to refer to these sections to understand how to effectively use our dataset in your applications and analyses.
